30 Years of Police Service

Teena Stoddart started her career with the Ontario Provincial Police in 1991, transferring to the Ottawa Police Services in 1998, and retiring after 30 years of service May 2021. As a Sergeant, Teena supported many critical thinking positions., as well as delivered training in those positions.


In 2010, Teena was seconded to the Ontario Beh

Teena Stoddart started her career with the Ontario Provincial Police in 1991, transferring to the Ottawa Police Services in 1998, and retiring after 30 years of service May 2021. As a Sergeant, Teena supported many critical thinking positions., as well as delivered training in those positions.


In 2010, Teena was seconded to the Ontario Behavioural Science Unit as a Viclas Analyst, where she received training on serial sexual predators from RCMP, as well as training at FBI conferences.   As part of her position in Bahavioural Sciences, Teena provided training throughout the Province of Ontario.


January 2018, Teena became one of the founding members of the Canadian Violence Link Coalition and lead the Enforcement Portfolio until November 2020.  Teena initiated violence link training as a pilot in Ottawa Police, and then delivered that violence link training throughout Canada.

  • Developing a violence link literature review, in partnership with Humane Canada.
  • Developed various violence link training materials.
  • Delivered violence link train the trainer to Instructors at police training centres.
  • Delivered violence link presentations to police training colleagues, various conferences, policing organizations, the Federal

  • Developing a violence link literature review, in partnership with Humane Canada.
  • Developed various violence link training materials.
  • Delivered violence link train the trainer to Instructors at police training centres.
  • Delivered violence link presentations to police training colleagues, various conferences, policing organizations, the Federal Womens’ Caucus, and was a keynote speaker at the 2019 National Women’s Day in Ottawa, Ontario.
  • Worked with the business owners  for the B-Safer Questionnaire, mandated in the Western Provinces for police, to ensure that threat assessment questionnaire include violence link questions.

30 Years of Police Service

  • Worked with the Ontario Government to pass a Motion recommending  violence link training for all enforcement officers in Ontario , which was unanimously passed on October 22, 2020.
  • Provided support to provinces to explore mandated violence link enforcement training .
  • Meeting with Federal politicians to seek support for proposed Coercive Con

  • Worked with the Ontario Government to pass a Motion recommending  violence link training for all enforcement officers in Ontario , which was unanimously passed on October 22, 2020.
  • Provided support to provinces to explore mandated violence link enforcement training .
  • Meeting with Federal politicians to seek support for proposed Coercive Control Law,   animal pornography law, and to have Statistics Canada record statistics on violence link cases.
  • Testified at the House of Commons Justice Committee to close loop holes on Bestiality  and animal fighting  laws, and requested amendments that were adopted.

Sgt Stoddart was an excellent resource today and provided an amazing amount of information, knowledge and content that I will use in my day-to-day life. I am honoured and privileged to have participated today.
